VCU Futures League Information

VC United's Futures League is divided into three levels:
  • Level 5: Advanced (8th-5th Grade)
    Must have club experience
  • Level 4: U14/U13 (8th-7th Grade)
  • Level 3: U12/U11 (6th-5th Grade)
  • Level 2: U10/U9 (4th-3rd Grade)
  • Level 1: U8/U7 (2nd-K Grade)

A player may be moved up or down one division to accommodate his/her instructional needs or playing ability.

The Level 1 thru Level 4 leagues are designed for beginner or inexperienced players that are not ready to make the jump into one of our club programs.

The Level5 league is for advanced players with club and/or playing experience. Could be a perfect fit for those playing club in December or those that have spring school seasons.

Players should be eager to learn and ready to have fun! The Futures League is a great opportunity for players to fall in love with volleyball!

After teams are formed the team will train on Sundays; the first half of their session and play a match the second half.

The tentative schedule for Fall 2023 is:
11:00am-12:30pm - Level 1 & Level 2
12:30pm-2:00pm - Level 3 & Level 4
2:00pm-4:00pm - Level 5

Our program features a Technical Director, who will design and lead each practice, as well as Head Coaches for each team who are either current VC United coaches, players, or experienced parents with a background in volleyball.

All coaches must complete our Futures League Certification class and are background screened to ensure a positive experience for all players.

Our main program focus is to encourage children to do the best with their abilities. With an emphasis on positive reinforcement, the program seeks to build confidence and self-esteem in each child.

While the program teaches children the skills necessary to excel in the sport of volleyball, the focus remains on participation, cooperation, sportsmanship, responsibility, and, of course, fun! Strength, endurance and improved coordination result from the weekly activity of the program. Furthermore, a season of league matches is sure to provide plenty of exciting volleyball action. Skills are taught using technically correct methods for peak performance and safety.
