We are pleased to announce that Bryanna Weiskircher has been promoted to Girls’ Premier Technical Director for the 2020-21 Season. Patrick Freeman, who has held the position for the last two seasons, is taking a leave of absence for this season due to his significantly increased workload in his full-time position. Freeman will stay on as a Head Coach in the Girls’ Elite Program and plans to return to the Technical Director position in the 2021-22 season. While we are disappointed to lose Patrick for the season, we are excited to have someone with Bryanna’s experience and skillset ready to step in.
Bryanna joined the VC United coaching staff last season and quickly experienced success as both the 171 Elite Head Coach and the 163 Premier co-coach. In addition to coaching two club teams, Bryanna has been a presence in our gym this summer as a lead coach for Group Lessons and clinics. A Rockford native, Bryanna played her collegiate volleyball at Penn State University where she won an NCAA National Championship (2014), a Big Ten Championship (2017), 2 NCAA All-Regional Honors, 1 All-Big Ten Selection and 1 All-American Award in her career. She finished her Penn State career with 29 career double-doubles and eighth all-time on the Penn State career assists board 3,523.
Bryanna played high school volleyball at Rockford Boylan for Amanda Carlson. She won two AAU National Championships as a club player.
