We are excited to announce the hiring of Jennifer Charles as our Regional Technical Director for our Loves Park location.  Charles takes over the reins for Lani Mitchell who stepped down earlier this spring.

Charles, who is affectionately known as “Alex” by many of our coaches (maiden name is Alexandar), has an extensive coaching career spanning over 10 years.  She just completed her first season at VC United as the head coach for both 163 Elite and 151 Regional in Rockford.  Just prior to the pandemic, Jen was moved into a new role as our Parent/Player Liason, to take advantage of her training/background as a school counselor. In addition to her long club coaching career (10+ years), she is also the current Varsity Head Coach at Sycamore High School.

Prior to her coaching career, Charles was an accomplished libero at Western Illinois University (2003-06) where she still holds the career digs record (2,343).  Jen was recently hired at Rockford Auburn as a counselor for the 2020-21 school year.  She lives in Sycamore with her husband and three young children.
