Our goal is to host unique single day events that meet the needs of clubs in the stateline area and greater Midwest! We are also excited to have a HS Summer League and summer tournament. We hope you will join us at VC United!

Time/Courts |
Doors open at 7am. 1st match of the tournament is 8am -- some courts with 3 team pools (but not all) may start at 9am. Schedules are posted on AES. $10 entry fee 12 and under free. Required Forms |
Mizuno Challenge Series is a JVA Event. All coaches must carry physical copies of the JVA Participant Release of Liability and a Medical Release Form for each of their players. USA Volleyball Medical Release Forms are accepted. All USA/AAU need electronic or paper copies present. |
Check-In |
Coach must sign the event sign-in form upon arrival. This ensures that you are carrying hard copies of the release of liability and medical release forms for each of your players. During sign-in, please ask the desk if you have any questions about the format for the day. |
Rosters |
Please upload your roster into AES before the event or email an official copy of your roster to mcozzi@vcunited.club at least 3 days prior.. All adults listed on rosters at JVA insured events must complete the JVA Background Screen and APS training form.* JVA accepts USAV screens and Safesport training. If you are USAV Certified, you will not have to pay for the JVA Screen or APS but you do still have to complete the form. *Clubs cannot submit rosters for JVA insured events through AES until all adults on rosters have a verified background screen through the above form.Please make sure jerseys #s are accurate. |
Format |
Pool play sets vary according to the format needed to accommodate the number of entries for the day. Semi-finals and Championship are best 2 out of 3 sets with the 3rd set played to 15 points. No cap. Up refs provided. 1) win-loss match record, 2) head-to-head (includes head-to-head point differential), 3) total point spread of all pool play matches, 4) coin toss. All teams must stay through all officiating duties. Winner of the gold championship match receives a medal. Tie breaking: Tie-Breaking Procedure: 1)set win-loss record 2) head-to-head (includes head-to-head point differential (includes head-to-head point differential or percentage), 3) total point spread of all pool play matches or percentage of points 4) coin toss |
Warm-Ups |
1st match: 2 minutes shared (coin flip)/4 minutes serving team/4 minutes receiving team. Every other match: 3 minutes serving team/3 minutes receiving team. No ball handling during off times. 2 minutes between sets. |
Volleyballs |
Please bring your own volleyballs. |
U11/U12 |
U12 Division: Players use 7’0” net height, use a youth volleyball, and must stay behind the endline to serve U11 Division: Players must start behind the endline and can take up to 2 steps into the court |
Facility Rules |
No outside food allowed except for water bottles. No animals unless it is a service animal. No smoking on facility grounds. No spectator chairs. No firearms. Concessions and food are provided. |
Behavior |
Mizuno Series promotes a positive atmosphere. We have the right to remove any spectator, coach, or participant that displays behaviors that are disruptive to the event |
All- Tournament Team/Series Points |
Coaches will vote after pool play on players that showed exceptional playing/sportsmanship. (Coaches do not vote for their own team). In order to advance to playoffs, you must hand in a fully completed sheet. Results will be posted and emailed by the Wednesday after each tournament. Whether you enter one or multiple dates, your placement in the tournament will earn you points towards the Mizuno Series Championship. |
2023 Mizuno HS Summer Leagues
VC United is offering High School Summer Leagues at our facility in Loves Park, IL in July 2023! The League will feature 4 dates of play in July only! Our convenient schedule works in conjunction with your club athletes that are competing into late June.
Location
The primary facility will be at VC United in northeast Rockford (Loves Park, IL). The facility features 6 sport courts, 6 wood courts, and full amenities such as spectator seating, concessions, and more!
